I began my time at BVN working on the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment in Penrith, Greater Sydney- my first project in clinical architecture, commencing and completing the SSDA. Working on this provided a thorough understanding of the planning and systems within the building before I took on the role of structural coordinator for DD submission. As clinical construction is typically done in practical stages of construction, I was required to work through existing unresolved issues (from the previous stage) and new coordination items. Further to this, I worked through multiple outstanding areas that required redesign and coordination, successfully resolving them.

Once DD was submitted, I was given the oportunity to briefly work on the Sirius multi-residential apartment redevelopment. This project received a lot of media coverage due to it’s standing significance and the associated social issues around the iconic building. I assisted in translating compliancy regulations on drawings based on the BS En by the interior design sub-consultants (Kelly Hoppen, UK) to the BCA.
