ANAMEXICANA FIT OUT
Puerto Escondido, Mexico
Retail/Commercial
ANAMEXICANA is a Puerto Escondido based clothing label who I have been creatively collaborating with for the last two years, as a stylist and model. She procured me to draw up a concept store fit out for her on my recent trip to Mexico.
In her own words, her style is ‘Shiny, Spicy People’ and we sought to reflect that in her redesign while minimising cost and utilising local resources- by means of proximity as well as up-cycling, reusing and reinventing what already existed.
Additionally, the necessary reconfiguration of the workshop, optimisation of lighting, fluidity of circulation for user experience and an additional bar needed to be demountable as she was under a rental agreement.
Due to resourcing issues and Mexican standards all surveys, design, material resourcing and production of deliverables were required.

SURVEY, SYSTEMS + DELIVERY
Due to lack of existing plans of the building, limited resources available, existing floor plans were done manually.
In order to reduce the greenhouse effect apparent on this site in combination with cost, passive design was encouraged.
Deliverables were designed to meet international standards in the event of a business expansion, involving franchising abroad.
MEXICAN CODES + MATERIALITY
Used normative Mexican regulations, in collaboration with universal standards.
Involved project managing and ensuring technical compliancy and various methods of QA/QC.
Developed technical details to ensure the design’s efficiency and feasibility and sought verification from local architects and specialists
